QUOTATIONS SPECIALIST (ENTRY LEVEL)

The Role in a Nutshell

We are looking for a sharp, organized, and detail driven Quotations Specialist to join our sales team. You will be the bridge between our manufacturers and our customers, turning complex lighting designs into accurate, competitive price quotes.

If you love solving puzzles, working with spreadsheets, and seeing a project move from a blueprint to a finished building, this is the spot for you.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Price Coordination: Review project specifications and blueprints to generate accurate price quotes for commercial lighting packages.
  • Vendor Liaison: Communicate with manufacturers to negotiate pricing and verify product lead times.
  • Bid Management: Ensure all quotes are submitted on time to meet strict contractor deadlines.
  • Sales Support: Assist the outside sales team by identifying cost-saving alternatives (value engineering) when a project is over budget.
  • Detail Detective: Double-check part numbers, voltages, and finishes to ensure what we quote is what actually gets built.

 

What You Bring to the Table

  • The Basics: 1+ years in customer service in a fast paced industry or degree in Business.
  • Tech Literacy: You can use Microsoft Excel and comfortable learning new CRM/quoting software.
  • Precision: You have a “measure twice, cut once” mentality. Small errors in this industry can lead to big headaches.
  • Communication: Comfortable communicating via email or over the phone.
  • Drive: You’re looking to start a career in the fast-paced world of electrical distribution and construction.

OUTSIDE SPECIFICATION SALES

Duties

  • Develop architectural lighting specifications with lighting design professionals
  • Maintaining relationships with key specifiers. Architects, Lighting Designers, Engineers
  • Providing educational presentations relating to represented product lines. Online and In-Person
  • Listening to and Understanding customer needs and requirements
  • Assisting design professionals with responsive product information

  • Knowledge of lighting design and IES Recommended Practices

Preferred

  • Oasis software knowledge
  • AGI32 experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in lighting specification sales
  • Experience utilizing project lead information
